This is a limited set that includes 100 colors of Gansai-Tambi packaged beautifully in a paulownia wood box.
The box is compact and easy to use, and it will be a dream come true as a gift!

It has 4 layers and a lid, and the paint pans can be removed individually outside the box. That way, you can replace some individual colors once you finish them.
We can provide color refills, contact us if you need some.

What is Gansai-Tambi:
Gansai-Tambi are traditional Japanese pan watercolors, a unique type of semi opaque watercolor, originating from Japan, that have a different feel and effect compared to Western watercolors. They are recognized by its vivid color and quick dissolution.

Besides pigments, Gansai Tambi paints incorporate additional ingredients such wax, sugar syrup, and glycerin, which contribute to their unique properties, including their creamy texture and vibrant colors. 

It will fulfill the dreams of many creators and crafters, professional or amateur, who pursuit the beauty in their artwork. 

These amazing watercolors can be used just like regular watercolors or gouache, but they are also meant to be mixed with sumi ink (charcoal ink), to add a touch of color to the black and create stuning tones for sumie (suibokuga) art. Can you imagine how many blue-black, red-black, green-black, etc. tones you can create and how many mindblowing effects you can archieve?

Wide range of vivid, rich colors:
In this set you will find beautiful Japanese colors that are inspirted in the landscapes of Japan. There are so many tones unusual in the western paint sets. Those colors have very poetic names and many of them evoque to romantic things in nature, like the color of the sky during certain time of the day in autumn, the fresh and bright green of the just born leaves in Spring or the color of the rice crops when they are about to be harvested.

There are a wide range of vivid colors that can be used without mixing, so you can paint with the exact tone again. And, when you mix them, you will experience the joy of discover tones that you might never seen before.

Thanks to the pigments and composition, they are bold colors that are lightfast, so your drawing will remain vivid.

Various expressions:
Water-based pigment paint that can be semi opaque when used solely as a gouache, but that can also become more transparent depending on the amount of the water added for dilution.

Usability:
These paints can be used for a variety of purposes such as sketching, illustration, ink brush painting, lettering, calligraphy and more!

This solid type of watercolor pressed into pans that can be prepped and cleaned up quickly.

The bottom of the pan is rounded so that any remaining paint in the corners can be easily used until the very last drop.

We recommend to use them on watercolor paper, but they are also perfect for sumie or suibokuga paper and you can enjoy them on sketchbook paper and MD paper too.
