(九ポ堂) Kyupodo Post Card: Giant Oarfish Express

We are so proud to be carrying this lovely post card from Kyupodo (九ポ堂) at the Wanderlust shop. We love this letterpress company for their beautiful work with gorgeous handmade printings and lovely designs. 

Their adorable retro postcards are not just beautiful, the humor on them is really smart and funny, making us loving them even more.

The Wanderlust team has made a very big effort to translate the cards, so you can not just enjoy their artwork, but also understand how funny they are. 

This train is not the "Galaxy Express 999" from Leiji Matsumoto.
This express take you deep sea voyage. 
You would meet Blobfish, Atlantic football-fish, Coelacanth, Goblin Shark, Giant Squid and Cachalot.
It's a rare case, but, sometimes, it may take you to the Mysterious Island at the Bottom of sea.

In Japan, giant oarfish is called "Ryuguu no Tsukai".
It means apostle or emissary of the Mysterious Island at the Bottom of the sea.
